What revenue operations means for a growing business
Revenue operations, often called RevOps, is the system that moves a lead from first contact to paid customer and beyond. It covers the rules, tools and reports that sit between marketing and sales.
In many businesses, marketing hands over leads and hopes. Sales works the ones that look promising. Estimates go out and nobody follows up. Months later, nobody can say which campaigns produced revenue. RevOps closes those gaps with clear rules and automation, so results depend less on who happened to be at the desk.
We build RevOps on top of a solid CRM. If yours needs work, that comes first through CRM development.
Lead scoring
Lead scoring ranks new leads by how likely they are to become customers, so your team calls the best ones first. We build scores from your own history and rules.
A score might combine fit (service area, job type, budget, company size) with intent (requested a quote, visited the pricing page, answered the phone). We keep scoring simple enough that a salesperson can see why a lead scored high. Complex scores nobody understands get ignored.
Here is a hypothetical example. Say a standby generator installer gives 30 points for a homeowner in the service area, 20 for asking about whole-home coverage, and 20 for booking a site visit online. A lead at 70 goes to the senior estimator the same hour. A lead at 20 gets an educational email sequence.
Routing and speed-to-lead follow-up
Routing gets each lead to the right person fast, and follow-up sequences make sure nobody is forgotten. Speed matters because people often contact several companies at once.
We set up instant acknowledgment by text or email, assignment by service, area or score, and alerts when a lead sits untouched too long. Follow-up sequences mix calls, texts and emails over the following days, and stop automatically when the lead replies or books.
Everything respects consent. Marketing texts and emails go only to people who opted in, and every message includes a clear way to stop.
Estimate follow-ups and onboarding
Estimate follow-up is where many service businesses lose the most revenue, because a sent quote feels like finished work. We automate the reminders so every open estimate gets attention.
When an estimate is sent, the system schedules check-ins: a short message a few days later, a call task for the estimator, and a final note before the quote expires. Won and lost outcomes are recorded with a reason, which feeds reporting.
Once a customer says yes, onboarding begins. That can include a welcome email, scheduling confirmation, what-to-expect information, document collection and, later, a review request sent to every customer without filtering for happy ones first.
Revenue reporting
RevOps reporting shows how leads move through each stage and which sources produce revenue. It answers the questions owners actually ask.
We build dashboards in Looker Studio that join ad, analytics and CRM data: leads by source, contact rate, estimates sent, close rate, and revenue by campaign. Reports are written for owners in plain English, with definitions for every number. This connects closely to our marketing analytics and attribution work. You can also model your own funnel with the pipeline simulator.
